Expectations - Family Caregivers

Helping Mom through this stage of Dementia has been interesting to say the least.  Nothing....I repeat....NOTHING stays the same for long.  Something that works for a while (or even once in a while) suddenly changes and there isn't a thing you can do or say to make her do something she needs to do.

If you expect this to happen it makes life a little easier.  This garden gate at Fernwood Gardens in Michigan reminded me of our situation.  A little grey and blurry, but something wonderful was waiting on the other side.  Not a bright fabulous garden, just a shady and quiet place to rest, with little woodland flowers peeking through.  A little like when we step back and just wait for the sweet little moments after Mom's mood changes back again.

And your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it,” when you turn to the right or when you turn to the left. Isaiah 30:21 ESV

  2. Love your perspective! I also love that scripture. I am so happy that you have God to walk beside you during such a challenging part of life. It's inspiring how you cling to that!

I'm visiting from a blog hop and am a new follower and I'd love it if you'd consider dropping by and following back!
