If you expect this to happen it makes life a little easier. This garden gate at Fernwood Gardens in Michigan reminded me of our situation. A little grey and blurry, but something wonderful was waiting on the other side. Not a bright fabulous garden, just a shady and quiet place to rest, with little woodland flowers peeking through. A little like when we step back and just wait for the sweet little moments after Mom's mood changes back again.
Expectations - Family Caregivers
Helping Mom through this stage of Dementia has been interesting to say the least. Nothing....I repeat....NOTHING stays the same for long. Something that works for a while (or even once in a while) suddenly changes and there isn't a thing you can do or say to make her do something she needs to do.
