Ice Cream Moments at The Brown Cow Ice Cream Parlor
We had a nice time with our Granddaughter yesterday.  We walked to one park, drove to another and stopped for ice cream on the way home.  It was a beautiful day, and we had fun swinging and playing in the park, but I think Lee and I both most enjoyed a few moments of undivided attention as she told us different stories.  I love this age when kids explain how things work in their lives.

As we walked to the park I was pointing out the different plants and trees, as usual, and showed her how to tell the difference between the tulip and daffodil leaves.  She explained that the flowers would be like party hats and the leaves were like clothes, and then said, "but that's just a metaphor - not for real".  For a minute I forgot that she's 4 "and a 1/2!" and understands these things now...

She was telling Lee all about soccer practice and her other activities here. I think they also talked about the difference between sugar cones and regular cones too.  They share a silly sense of humor and we all enjoyed the laughter and fun.  We're so very grateful for the day.

Sometimes you will never know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory.  Dr. Seuss
